AIHA® and NSC India Renew MOU
BY BROOKE MORRIS
On April 20, AIHA and the National
Safety Council (NSC) India renewed
their September 2007 Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU). The MOU calls
for the organizations to collaborate to
further develop occupational safety and
health through technical cooperation
and exchanges.
NSC India was established in 1966 by
the Ministry of Labour, Government of
India. The goal of the organization is “to
generate, develop and sustain a volun-
tary movement on safety, health and the
environment (SHE) at the national level.”
To achieve this goal, NSC India conducts
educational courses, conferences, semi-
nars, and workshops, and participates in
international conferences, such as the
World Congress and the Asia Pacific Oc-
cupational Safety and Health Organiza-
tion (APOSHO) Conference.
The MOU is valid for three years. For
more information, visit www.aiha.org/

Committee Spotlight
Engineering Committee
BY RONALD D. TAYLOR
The AIHA® Engineering Committee
(EC) is devoted to providing a forum
to advance the use of engineering
principles for the prevention and
control of health hazards and to address emerging issues and support
AIHA interests. Open to engineers
and individuals with an interest in
engineering, the EC explores the application of mathematical models, the
integration of real-world solutions to
issues, and the design of tools that
apply to industrial hygiene controls.
One of the objectives of the EC is
to identify and list degree-holding
and licensed engineers so that they
may share experiences, interests and
knowledge. This list is posted on the
EC page of the AIHA website at
www.aiha.org/insideaiha/volunteer
groups/Pages/ Engineering.aspx. If
you are an engineer and member of
AIHA and are interested in being included, please fill out an information
form at www.zoomerang.com/Survey/
WEB22A76Z67BYL. You do not have
to be listed on the EC page to be involved in the committee and in communications with other engineers,
and we will not include you in the
public listing if you do not want us
to do so.
