variety of industries in response to Congressional directives. The
agency has also created the electronic GHG reporting tool (e-GGRT),
an online reporting platform that companies will use to submit data.
To ensure that entities understand the new data reporting requirements and have adequate time to familiarize themselves with
the electronic reporting tool, EPA has extended the deadline for reporting 2010 data to Sept. 20, 2011. Under the GHG Reporting Program, companies submitting data must register with the e-GGRT 60
days prior to the reporting deadline. The new deadline for registering with e-GGRT is Aug. 1, 2011.
Launched in October 2009, the EPA GHG Reporting Program requires that large emission sources and fuel suppliers report greenhouse gas emissions data. In addition, the program aims to provide
information to help industries be more resourceful and save money.
