IHSTAT Now in Dutch
AIHA released the Dutch translation of IHSTAT on Jan. 6.
This translation was made possible by a collaboration of
the AIHA Exposure Assessment Strategies Committee and the Belgian
Society of Occupational
Hygiene (BSOH). IHSTAT
is a multi-language, data
interpretation statistical
package that computes
descriptive statistics, determines if the distributions are normal or log
normally distributed, and
calculates associated confidence limits on the mean and
the tolerance limits of the distribution.
IHSTAT and IH MOD are flexible spreadsheets that implement many basic modeling and statistical analysis algorithms. To download the IHSTAT and IH MOD programs and
user guides, visit the Exposure Assessment Strategies Committee page at http://bit.ly/aihaeacommittee.
AIHA Launches New Website for Consumers
AIHA’s new consumer-focused website, launched Dec. 15, allows the general public to access resources and information
about industrial hygiene and related fields. The website
( www.workerhealthsafety.com) is a consumer guide to the profession, careers and matters of concern to industrial hygienists.
The site includes information about the day-to-day responsibilities of an industrial hygienist,
what it takes to achieve an industrial
hygiene career, and the important
issues and challenges an IH professional routinely addresses.
The website will be constantly updated with industry news
and information and will be connected to AIHA.org. In addition, users will find helpful links to EPA, NIOSH and state
OSHA programs.
